Since incorporating the stand-alone 2D gel image analysis module REDFIN Solo as a third analysis option in the REDFIN software something has been nagging us about the REDFIN start page.
The start page is not only the first thing you see when logging in to your REDFIN account – it also acts as the hub connecting you to new gel analysis projects, existing analysis results, your account information, and various other smaller project related actions.

The REDFIN start page as it used to be
However, now with REDFIN Solo available, it was not 100% obvious how you would actually start a Solo analysis… Plus, REDFIN Solo and the Basic and Pro service options shared the same analysis setup wizard, which meant some unnecessary steps for the Solo analysis. And this we felt was not good enough.
So, back to the drawing board we went.
And came up with a new REDFIN start page that clearly reflects the options you have in the software:

The new REDFIN start page with an improved user interface
One big button for Solo and another big button for the service options Basic and Pro. : )
By clearly splitting the Solo and Basic/Pro wizards from the beginning it is not only clearer – especially to novice users – what the options are and how to proceed, but the respective wizards are also taylored to fit exactly the analysis option you have chosen. The consequence is an even more streamlined, and therefore faster, flow for the user.
Now that we are extremely happy again with the REDFIN interface, we can contentedly go back to the development labs where the next cool feature additions to REDFIN are brewing…
As with any other upgrades to the REDFIN software, you will receive them automatically and at no extra cost when you next start REDFIN.
